Under B.C.’s Slow Down, Move Over rule, when approaching a vehicle with flashing red, blue or yellow lights that is stopped by the side of the road, you must slow down to 70 km/h when in an 80 km/h or over zone, or to 40 km/h when in an under 80 km/h zone. (Such vehicles include emergency vehicles, roadway maintenance vehicles, utility vehicles and tow trucks.)
