In B.C., a flashing green light indicates that the intersection is pedestrian controlled. You may turn or go straight, but pedestrians can push a button at any time to turn the signal to yellow and then red to stop traffic so they can cross safely. Note: In Ontario and some other parts of Canada, a flashing green light has indicated something else: a protected turn. When travelling out of B.C., always check the local traffic rules.
