You need a lot of space to pass a tractor-trailer safely. Remember that trucks are long; in Canada, some double tractor-trailers are 27.5 metres in length. Don’t pass one unless you are sure you have enough space. Make sure you keep out of the truck’s blind spots. If you pass a large vehicle or make a lane change in front of one, leave extra room before you merge back in front of the vehicle
