#1. In British Columbia, when can you make a right turn at a red light?
A red light means that you must come to a complete stop. After you have stopped and made sure the intersection is clear of all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, you may turn right unless signs indicate otherwise. Note: When turning right, some drivers fail to come to a complete stop at a red light or stop sign. Instead, they crawl past it at less than 8 km/h. This is commonly known as a “rolling stop” – but it’s illegal, and you can be cited for doing it.
