Class 4 Practice
#1. A ride-hailing (e.g., Uber) driver is en route in his or her own vehicle to pick up a passenger who requested a ride. Suddenly the driver is involved in a crash. Which insurance will cover the crash?
If the ride-hailing (e.g., Uber) driver has not yet accepted a ride request from a customer, the basic insurance policy of the vehicle’s owner applies. Once the driver accepts a ride request from a customer, the company’s Basic blanket policy applies. ICBC has developed a Basic blanket policy for ride-hailing companies.
