#1. If you find a major defect in your vehicle during your pre-trip inspection, when must it be repaired?

Within a week

Before the vehicle is driven again

During the next scheduled maintenance

Whenever it's convenient

Defects found during an inspection are classified as minor or major. You may continue to drive the vehicle with a minor defect if you have immediately entered the defect on the daily inspection report and reported the defect to the carrier. However, you are not allowed to drive a vehicle with a major defect.
