Class 4 Practice
#1. What should you do to prevent a vehicle fire?
There are many steps you should take to help prevent vehicle fires. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Underinflated tires can overheat from increased flexing of the tires – and overheated tires can catch fire. Never start a vehicle with a fuel leak. Repair the leak and soak up the spilled fuel before starting the engine. Make sure your vehicle’s brakes are fully released while your vehicle is moving. Dragging brakes can generate heat, which can ignite the grease or oil in the wheel hubs. Shut off the engine before you start to refuel your vehicle, and don’t smoke while you’re refuelling it.
