#1. When you're going to tow a trailer, how can you tell if the trailer's antilock braking system (ABS) is working?

Slam on the brakes.

Look for a light on the passenger side of the trailer.

Look for a light on the driver's side of the trailer.

Brake slowly.

A trailer has a yellow ABS malfunction lamp on the left (driver’s) side, on either the front or rear corner. It will light up if there’s a problem with the trailer ABS. You should be able to see the lamp in your driver’s-side mirror
