Air Break Practice Test

#1. When using the applied stroke method to check pushrod stroke, how much pressure should you apply to the service brakes?

After noting where the pushrod currently is with the service brakes released, apply 620 – 690 kPa (90 – 100 psi) of air pressure to the service brakes and measure how far the pushrod moves (this distance is called the applied stroke). This procedure will probably require two people: one to apply the brakes and one to measure pushrod travel.
